Why coastal topography is hard<\/b><\/h2>\n

Shorelines introduce real operational friction. Access is limited. Safety risks rise. Above all, <\/span>tide windows<\/b> control when you can work and for how long, which stretches ground schedules and complicates repeatable measurements. A conventional approach in these conditions becomes slow and difficult.<\/span><\/p>\n

Method overview: hybrid LiDAR + photogrammetry<\/b><\/h2>\n

We selected a hybrid workflow that combines <\/span>airborne LiDAR<\/b> for structure-through-vegetation and elevation fidelity with <\/span>photogrammetry<\/b> for high-resolution textures and planimetrics. This approach hits accuracy and coverage targets for coastal ecosystems, mangrove planning, and EIA deliverables.<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Control:<\/b> High-grade GNSS using <\/span>Trimble R12<\/b> for Primary Reference, <\/span>GCPs<\/b> used in adjustment, and <\/span>ICPs<\/b> held blind for validation and accuracy reporting.<\/span><\/li>\n

      Acquisition strategy<\/b><\/h2>\n

      We divided the shoreline into <\/span>13 blocks<\/b> and scheduled missions inside <\/span>tide windows<\/b> to balance safety and data quality. This playbook completed capture in <\/span>1 month<\/b> and kept datasets comparable across sites despite changing coastal conditions.<\/span><\/p>\n

We aligned and adjusted the block network, generated a <\/span>DSM<\/b> and bare-earth <\/span>DTM<\/b>, built the <\/span>orthomosaic<\/b>, and created <\/span>contours<\/b> and <\/span>2D CAD<\/b>. We computed residuals on independent checkpoints and packaged the <\/span>Accuracy Assessment<\/b> and <\/span>Survey Report<\/b> for sign-off.<\/span><\/p>\n
